Foundations of Drawing 2

Do you possess a decent understanding of drawing fundamentals and are comfortable drawing from life? Do you wish to learn the advanced drawing skills required to add more complex textures, forms, and materials in your drawings, and thereby enhance its overall visual appeal?

This course is a follow up to our popular Foundations of Drawing Course. Taught by accomplished figurative artist, Donna Shvil, this course will provide you with all the resources required to boost your life drawing skills and enable you to create engaging and well defined artwork.

This course features lectures, demonstrations and drawing exercises aimed at improving your observation, composition and perspective skills as well as augmenting your value and tonal knowledge.  You will strengthen your compositional skills and learn how to effectively place key elements within your drawing so you can generate complex compositions that draw the viewer in and best showcase the desired mood of your artwork. You will gain a deeper understanding of values and gain proficiency manipulating tonal ranges so you can effectively create the illusion of depth and space in your drawings and make them appear more realistic. In addition, you will also acquire the skills required to accurately render a variety of materials, textures and drapery using traditional mediums like a professional!

By the end of this course, you will have taken your traditional drawing skills to a whole new level, giving you the confidence and ability to generate complex drawings, be it still life, portraiture, costumed or nude. You will have gained a powerful set of drawing methods that will provide you with a solid foundation for more advanced traditional drawing classes as well as digital concept and illustration classes
