Karissa Martinez

My name is Karissa Martinez, and I am a concept artist who specializes in Character Concept.
As a Character Concept artist I find comfort in studying and sketching the human form, often
sitting in a cafe or museum to draw people or statues for a handful of hours. Some qualities I am
proud to state when it comes to my work, I have a firm understanding of anatomy and
proportions, as well as gestures, poses and facial expressions, something I meticulously work
and perfect almost everyday.

My portfolio project takes the story of ‘The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl’, and while not twisting
it a tremendous amount, the story is meant to revolve around a fantasy Inuit setting. A newbie
bison herder meets a man that appears from within a thick fog, and an unlikely bonding in
solidarity ensues.

When I am creating, the preferred programs that I am most skilled with are Photoshop, Clip
Studio Paint, and Blender. In addition, I am interested in learning other programs such as
procreate and Zbrush.

Moreover, I am a person who is willing to relocate, as I am legally able to work in both the
United States and Canada. Although if need be, I am more than open to travel to Europe if an
opportunity arises.
