As one of the most fundamental skills in a visual artist's arsenal, learning to draw in accurate perspective immediately and noticeably elevates an artist's work and allows them to create realistic images which convey space and depth.
By the end of this class, you will have a thorough understanding of perspective and will be well-equipped to depict any scene or subject with a proper sense of scale, depth and solidity.

Course Outline
*Please note that the following outline is subject to change slightly at the teacher's discretion.
Weeks 1 and 2
Learn the essentials of perspective drawing so you can represent 3-Dimensional objects on a 2-Dimensional plane. Understand how to represent various forms in orthogonal projection and in correct perspective, which is a key skill for artists.
Weeks 3 and 4
Become proficient at drawing objects and scenes in one-point perspective which is used when you are looking at an object or scene straight on (imagine staring down train tracks vanishing into the distance).
Weeks 4 and 6
Acquire expertise drawing various forms in 2 point perspective, which is essential for all artists who want to represent concepts and scenes where the objects and people are seen from different angles that aren’t exactly straight on (example: the widely used ¾ view).
Weeks 7 and 9
Learn to draw in 3 point perspective, essential for cityscapes, as well as multiple point and curvilinear perspectives which will allow you to represent all types of scenes and points of view. This will allow you to create fish-eye, distorted perspective and other dynamic and interesting effects in your artwork.
Week 10
Gain the skills required to analyze a complex object and break it down into smaller, easier to draw forms and then represent it all in an exploded view drawing. This skill, essential for industrial designers, architects and concept artists will allow you to effectively deconstruct and represent any object or architectural structure in proper perspective with a high level of accuracy.
