Illustrating Urban Elements in Watercolour with Camila Picheco
In this workshop, we will create watercolour paintings focused on buildings and other urban elements such as trees, signs, roads and people. This introductory session is perfect for those who are interested in urban sketching and illustration but want to dip their toes in first by exploring basic principles and painting techniques in a cozy class environment. By the end of the workshop, participants will be ready to apply their acquired skills to their own plein air sketches and paintings and will be able to produce eye-catching illustrations inspired by the sights of their vibrant city!
Using photo references, you will learn how to emphasize your chosen subject using simple composition techniques and stylization. Through practical demonstrations from experienced illustrator, Camila Picheco, you will also learn basic color theory as well as essential watercolour painting techniques to bring your images to life. What’s more, she will show you how to market your illustrations and even create your own merchandise!
